Born and raised in the Montreal area, Yannick was destined for a career in the hospitality industry. His passion for all that relates to the hotel business was crystallized during his formative years. While studying for his diploma in Hotel Management from LaSalle College, he gained valuable experience as Head Waiter for Manoir Richelieu which would serve him well the following year when he was recruited by the famed Hôtel Intercontinental. As their Head Waiter, he had the opportunity to work with twenty hotel managers to launch the Dom Perignon 1990 Vintage as well as their new four-star restaurant. His university studies were cut short in 1997 which he would complete later on a part-time basis, when he accepted the position of Account Executive for Delta Sherbrooke. Yannick would undertake two other postings as Head Waiter and Supervisor of Banquet Services, first with Château Montebello then with Manoir Saint-Sauveur until a key meeting in 1998 would bring him to Station Mont-Tremblant. For the next seven years, Yannick would have the opportunity to hone his skills even more. His natural leadership qualities and his acute sense of business relations did not go unnoticed which would include high praises from the General Prosecutor of Canada for his outstanding work and for his contribution to the success of a G8 Meeting that he managed at Station Mont-Tremblant. As Coordinator then quickly promoted as Head Waiter of Banquet Services for Station Mont-Tremblant, he successfully launched the opening of the new Convention Center. Then as Manager of Food and Drinks Division, overseeing a team of more than 50 employees of staff and supervisors, and responsible for the development and growth of this division along with a projected financial objective of $6M that would be exceeded under his management, Yannick was soon promoted as Intrawest Sales Department Manager. A position he held from 2002 until 2005, this was to be no small challenge as he embarked on leading a team of 20 sales people, managing the budget, promotions and representation of 10 hotels, 2 golf courses and all the activities of the resort. It was with great success that under his leadership, his department attained impressive sales records which would later earn him two commendations for his leadership qualities. A chance meeting with the owner of Le Grand Lodge, Mont-Tremblant changes the direction of his career and, his life. In 2005 Yannick becomes the new General Manager of this four-star hotel resort and conference center. Then in 2006, the owner of Le Grand Lodge launches Distinguished Hotels International and appoints Yannick as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. |
