How Distinguished® Came To Be:
A Little Bit of Background

Some of you may be familiar with the
Distinguished Hotels
banner that
operated out of the UK. At the time,
I had licensed the name to a British
company who after a few years of
operation, defaulted on our agreement and went bankrupt. 

After much encouragement from former members, and a desire to bring to fruition my original vision for the Distinguished® name, I decided not to license it to another company, but chose to do it myself. I put together a team of professionals with more than 50 years of collective experience in the hospitality industry, and in December 2007 launched Distinguished International® Hotels, Residences a nd Resorts, LLC.

Clear Vision: Provide Marketing from an Owner’s Perspective
As a fellow hotel owner having invested and managed
independent and upscale hotels for many years, I had a clear vision; to build a strong collection of handpicked one-of-a-kind luxurious, upscale properties from around the world, each one authentic and outstanding in their beauty, architecture, people and surroundings, and with proven, effective, affordable marketing programmes that I have applied to my own properties, bring the largest market in the world to these hotels: the North American market.

Distinguished International® Hotels, Residences and Resorts LLC. was launched by Bill Burruss and Danny Hanley in December 2007, with the purpose to develop, manage or market independently owned luxury, upscale, highly unique resorts, private residences, and hotels around the world.

A Renowned Success in the Hotel Industry
Bill Burruss, Managing Partner and President of Distinguished International® is well known to the hospitality industry for the US and European success of Grand Heritage Hotels which he founded in 1989 and sold in 1997. He also founded Magna Hospitality Group, L.C. which currently has various projects under development in Manhattan and operates an additional sixteen throughout the United States.  Burruss Investments holds the internationally registered licence of the Distinguished® name.

His partner, Danny Hanley, as President of Hanley Development brought this family owned residential land development and construction of single family homes company, to the international marketplace. Also Founder of Doren Development, a closely held company primarily focused on the development of luxurious residential resort communities, Danny brings extensive high end building experience and a forward-looking vision to Distinguished International®. Danny is Founder and the contact for all Investor Relations & Acquisitions for the Distinguished® brand.
